Write an essay (150 – 300 words) about this topic:
Some people prefer to spend more time improving their careers. Others think that it’s more important to spend time with family and friends. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
People have different priorities in life; some people choose to focus more on their work while others prefer to spend more time with their family and relatives. The following essay discusses both ideas, but I personally feel that we should have a balanced view of the discussion.
On the one hand, some people choose to spend more time developing their careers. These people believe that a career will be the most important aspect of their life, because a successful career will change their lives. They will be able to earn much money, drive a luxury car, live a big house, travel abroad or wear fancy clothes. Therefore, they choose to focus more on improving their career. One of the ways would be to work longer and be more devoted than what the average employee will do. They will also then take additional courses and training relevant to their work at night or on weekends. As a result, they do not have time for themselves and for their family and friends.
On the other hand, the other groups believe that family, relatives and friends are more important than work. They believe that spending more time with their families will have a positive impact on children’s mental development. They also believe that people should be close to relatives and neighbors, because they are the first who help in financial difficulties or natural disasters. Therefore, many of these people cannot improve their careers, because they do not want to spend time on personal growth.
In my opinion, I personally believe that everyone should have a balanced life. That means that everyone must realize their potential and should have goals and ambitions in their career life, but they should not sacrifice socialization time. People should learn more about time management as a priority at work so they can work more effectively and efficiently. As a result, they do not have to work overtime and they can spend time with family and friends.
People have different priorities in life, some people prefer to dedicate most of their time working while others have a preference for being with their loved ones. From my personal perspective, I strongly believe that we should have a balanced view regarding the discussion.
In this modern era, a host of people stoutly affirm that money is a key to enrich the quality of married life. For instance, a man who has a high-paid job will be able to support their family in a much better way compared to a person who is earning a modest amount of money. In that way, a lot of people are prone to give their all attention to their careers and be indifferent to their own family with the aim of making as much money as possible.
On the other hand, another group of people believe that family, relatives, and friends are more important than works. These people said that spending more time with family would bring good effects on children’s mental development. According to a study, a child who receives good care from her parents would become an open-hearted person compared to the one who receives less attentiveness from both mom and dad. Consequently, many people do not want to text on extra works as they prior to put their loved ones first.
In conclusion, both mindsets have their own merit and demerit as improving your careers provides your family with good subsistence expenses, however, it might drive you from your close relatives. Hence, a balance has to be struck in order to maintain close relationships and fulfill their works in a perfect way.
